There is no need to go to the municipal beach if you wish to swim. The best place to go is the pebble beach of Monaco-Ville. You can also enjoy free sunbathing on the Larvotto beach.

The stunningly cheap ride from Nice to Monaco is on bus №100. It cost only 1 euro. The bus also runs at night. The trip from Nice by train is a bit more expensive (3-4 euros). It stops at Monaco-Ville and Monte-Carlo.

In Brasserie de Monaco you can have a tasty diner for an affordable price. Especially during “happy hours”, it’s between 5PM and 8PM. At this time you can drink the restaurant’s crafted beer for half price. So, downing a half-pint will cost you only 2 euros. The night bar La Rascasse also has “happy hours” with live music from 5PM to 11PM.

It’s better to avoid going to Monaco by car. You will have to spend a lot on paid parking areas. In fact there is no sense to ride over Monaco by car. The Principality of Monaco is so tiny that it will take you just a day to walk across it. Besides, in many interesting places like, for instance, Monaco-Ville, only vehicles with local plate numbers are allowed driving into.

If you are going to buy a return, or one-way, train or bus ticket, make sure to come in advance since there may be large ticket office queues. Of course, there are ticket vending machines but foreign cards are not always accepted. Therefore, it would be a good idea to have as much cash and coins as you can.
