What we call «menu» has a “set-meal” meaning in Slovakia. That’s why don’t be surprised if there is no menu at some restaurants. And if there is one, you are lucky, because its dishes are much cheaper. Thus, in the center of Bratislava if you order a menu between noon and 2PM you’ll pay only 5 euro for it.

The most convenient, practical and cheap way to get from Košice to Bratislava is the local suburban train. Ticket prices start from 9 euro. Bus tickets are more expensive, from 14 euro.

Keep your eyes open at cafés and restaurants. They always offer trimmings when you order meat but the cost of them is not included in the cost of a dish. The cost of trimmings is indicated in the special menu column. Portions, however, are huge, so two people can share one portion.
